These two bright green mamba snakes sit on a large rock, almost mimicking the famous tragedy and comedy theatre masks. The snake on the left of the painting is quiet, sleepy and perhaps a little low-mood, whereas the snake on the right-hand side is full of life and bearing its teeth, perhaps while laughing.

The green mamba snakes are highly venomous and often spend most of their lives isolated from other living creatures. Therefore this painting is the artist's take on the same snake during different times of the day. This painting reflects a mood that many people can relate to, as one snake is tired and sleepy while the other has to deliver energy and personality.
