So why the Giraffe?
Our logo, brand and first released product is centred around the giraffe. There are several reasons for choosing this majestic and graceful animal. The biggest one being, prior to Tanzania gaining independence from the British empire, it was known as Tanganyika. Their flag contained the British flag combined with a giraffe head. After the Independence and formation of 'Tanzania', they later changed their flag, but kept the Masai giraffe, the world’s tallest species of giraffe, as their national symbol.
Secondly, one of our main target markets after the UK & Tanzania will be Asia. While not in the Zodiac, the giraffe is seen as a 'Qilin' in Chinese culture, which translates directly to unicorn in English and is admired as a special and powerful creature that symbolises luck, prosperity and success.
Finally, we believe our mango & passion fruit Giraffe Gin will be a fantastic launch product, in what will be the beginning of a fantastic journey that covers all of the big animals of the Serengeti and types of spirits, such as rum, whisky, vodka and tequila, just to name a few. We cannot wait to take you on that journey with us!
